My friend, and colleague, and I are nearly a generation apart, and we have recently started exposing each other to generational differences in music. I had one picked to commemorate this morning, but I found several others that were relevant via an interesting device: Amazon’s Alexa. Having been accustomed to Siri’s recent incompetence, I was happily surprised when I said, “Alexa, play Hank Williams, Jr.” and it did! Although I despise the rhetoric of Trump, I’m reminded of my teacher training: “Don’t despise the child – despise the behavior.” I may not agree with the majority of Trump’s rhetoric or views, but I do believe in our great Country (i.e., “We the People…”), and with the trip down memory lane last night, I have decided to be hopeful.
